Should I have Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI) if alergic to Gabapentin ?

I am Highly alergic to Gabapentin,and could have died from it if I did'nt go the the Hospital at one time.several hours after taking 1 500 mg.pill I started to have face and throat swelling severly,my eyes were almost closed shut and my tongue was so swollen ,I could hardly swallow or breath.I just came from a pain management Dr. today for my spinal pain,he told me I need 3 Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI) Does'nt this contain the drug, Gabapentin ?
