Does a steroid shot into my ear prevent me from loosing weight?

I'm 15, and 5'2''. I have something wrong with my ears and to try and fix it the doctor put a steroid shot into it about 6 weeks ago. But about 4 weeks ago I started to diet and exercise to get ready for bikini season and i haven't even lost a pound! I expected to loose at least 3 pounds by now by cutting out all the bad foods and im constantly drinking water but nothing is working and it's really starting to bother me. I'm 118 and i feel way to fat for a bikini so is this shot preventing me from loosing weight? Or could it be something else? If it is, please let me know.
