Fuel system is likely gummed up with varnish. To test for spark remove and hold the spark plug wire close to the top of the plug and pull the rip cord, you will see a spark right away if the magneto works. If you have spark fuel is your next issue, if you have no experience with this take to a small engine mechanic. Use fuel stabilizer in any power tool that burns fuel when you store them for prolonged periods.
